About Us                  

Barbara  J.  Whitaker is the wife of  David B. Whitaker.  In 1998, she initiated this site featuring the family history of her  immigrant grandparents, whose family names are:   Palkovic/ Vavra/ Wurth/ Stäckler . 

Since 1998, other relatives have found us and are providing valuable material about these families.

Barbara  is currently the registered owner and coordinator of this site. 

From the beginning, Glenn Anderson and  Ryan R.  Palkovic  have generously given professional, technical assistance.   We look forward to their continued support.

Now, in 2008, we have significantly revised the format of this website.

Our vision is to create a Family History and Genealogical  Center  which will be a comprehensive and professional resource for any of our relatives who are interested in investigating family history or networking with second and third cousins. Our hope is that this website,  barjwhit.com  will be sufficiently well established and useful  to be continued by future generations, so that it will be available to our great grandchildren, when they  start to wonder what life was like back in 2007 and the century before.
